Rachel E. Leon, 83, of Canonsburg, died Thursday, December 17, 2009, in Uniontown Hospital.
She was born May 6, 1926, in Washington, a daughter of Alonzo Dewey and Mary Ann Solinger Stoner.
Mrs. Leon had a great love for her family. She enjoyed camping, reading, and plastic canvas crafts.
Until her retirement, she worked on the assembly line at RCA and TacTec.
Mrs. Leon was a member of the Eagles, Jessop Club, L.O.O.M. 22, VFW 553 and VFW 927.
On May 15, 1954, she married Louis T. Leon, who died June 23, 2007.
Surviving are two daughters, Luann Leon Uphold of Canonsburg and Toni L. (Charles) Gerolium of Rotonda, Florida; seven grandchildren, Harmony (P.J.) Swaney, Echo (Chris) Kirkland, Scott and Gary Bunner, and Charles, Patrick and Johnathan Gerolium; 10 great-grandchildren; a close friend, Manuel Gomez; and extended family members.
Deceased are two sons, Gary Bunner and John Leon; a grandson, Jimmy Uphold, III; and three sisters, Catherine Hall, Ruth Hall and Peggy Linton.
Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Additional visitation will be held from 10 till 11 a.m., the hour of service, Monday, December 21st, in Church of Christ, 700 Allison Avenue, Washington. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
