Jane Iva Kraeer

Faith U.P. Church member enjoyed family. Jane Iva Kraeer, 96, of Washington, formerly of Hickory, died Friday, December 18, 2009, in Southmont of Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington. She was born October 25, 1913, in Akron, Ohio, a daughter of Angelo Rossi and Iva Jane Young. Mrs. Kraeer was a member of Faith United Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed her family, caring for children and playing cards. At one time, Mrs. Kraeer worked in the home nursing field. On August 30, 1943, she married Otto Irons Kraeer, who died November 25, 1975. Surviving are two sisters, Margaret Leopold of Hickory and Alice Auld of Washington; several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces, including Cathy Whetzel and Donna Lukich. Deceased are four brothers, Harry Rossi, Ernie Rossi, William W. Rossi and William Rossi; four sisters, Bessie Popp, Mary Chipps, Angelina King and Paulina Reed; a stepson, Thomas Kraeer; and four stepdaughters, Anna Belle Sherman, Ruth Clayton, Gladys Agnew and Hazel Johnson. Friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 21, in Church of Christ, 700 Allison Avenue, Washington, with the Rev. Ed DeLair officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.
