Gladys Virginia Allen

Gladys Virginia Allen, 82, of Washington, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2010 in Presbyterian Senior Care, following a brief illness. She was born October 7, 1927, in West Virginia, a daughter of Albert and Luda Homer Clemans. Mrs. Allen was a loving mother, grandmother and friend, who enjoyed working in her garden, crocheting and canning. She was also an avid bingo and card player. She will be sadly missed. Surviving are her loving life partner, Frank Mancina; 2 daughters, Mary F. Burk, of Washington and Darla D. (Joseph) Stein, of Lakeland, FL; a son, John F. Munchie, of Lakeland, FL; 8 grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren. Deceased are a daughter, Beverly Jean Munchie, a sister, Cora L. Truax and a brother, Albert Clemans. Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 24, 2010 in the Church of Christ, with Pastor Rick Bruckner officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
