Glenn Woods McHugh, 77, of Washington, died Saturday, January 9, 2010, in Canonsburg General Hospital, following a nine-month illness.
He was born January 22, 1932, in Farmington, Ohio, a son of Everett and Adalaid Woods McHugh.
He graduated from Bridgeport High School in Ohio in 1950, and was a member of Trinity Bible Fellowship.
Mr. McHugh played several instruments with the Sunset Serenaders, playing throughout Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. He loved his family, his church, and his music.
He was a bus driver and had worked for Suburban, GG & C, and Frank’s Auto Supply.
On September 9, 1966, he married Shirley Todd, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Darleen (David) Anderson, of Taylorstown; a sister, Lucille Amstutz Dye, of Ohio; two grandchildren, Amber (Darrell ) Talpas, of Graysville, and James Sickles IV, of Taylorstown; three great grandchildren, Izaiah, Diesel and Brystynn Talpas; a nephew, Karl (Donna) Amstutz and daughter, of Ohio, and a niece, Janet (Chris) Carraher, and daughter, Elizabeth, of Ohio.
Deceased are his grandparents, Edward and Margaret Woods, who helped raise him, a sister, Lela Ellen McHugh, who died in infancy, and a nephew, Larry Amstutz.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 E. Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2009, with Pastor Michael Roach and Pastor Bob Turrill, co-officiating. Burial will follow in Parkview Memorial Park, Elm Grove, West Virginia.
