Richard Hennick, 66, of Washington, died Saturday, September 25, 2010, in the Washington Hospital.
He was born in Washington on March 4, 1944, a son of the late George and Agnes Harkeli Hennick.
Mr. Hennick was a 1962 graduate of Trinity High School and served in the US Navy. He was a member of Edwin Scott Linton Post # 175 of the American Legion and a long time member of the Firing Squad, a member of Hawkins Post Home # 927, South Strabane Fire Department, and Local # 7139 of the U.S. Steel Workers.
For more than 28 years, Mr. Hennick worked at Washington Steel and later worked at Giant Eagle in the produce department. He was a member of the Glenn Street Free Methodist Church.
On October 18, 1969, he married Joyce Darlene Thompson who survives. Also surviving are sons, Richard Lee Hennick and Bryan Michael ( Lisa ) Hennick, both of Washington; grandchildren Lillian Groben and Sydney Hennick.
Preceding him in death is a sister Betty Phillips.
Friends of Richard Hennick, 66, of Washington, who died Saturday, September 25, 2010, will be received on Tuesday from 7 to 9 PM and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where services will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2010, at 11:00 AM, burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. Full military honors will be accorded graveside by Edwin Scott Linton Post # 175 American Legion. The family is requesting memorial donations be made to; American Cancer Society, Washington City Mission or the Heart Association.
