Earl “Bud” West, 63, of Eighty Four, died unexpectedly, Friday, October 1, 2010, in his residence.
He was born May 10, 1947, in Vestaburg, a son of the late Earl Sr. and Olive “”Dotty” West.
Mr. West was a construction worker for Local 66 and was a member of West Brownsville American Legion, West Brownsville VFW and L.O.O.M. in Cokeburg.
He was Methodist by faith.
A Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. West was founder and president of the local Wounded Warriors group. He did many wonderful things for “his warriors” and especially enjoyed taking them on hunting and fishing trips.
Mr. West will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
Surviving are five children, Jackie West and Christopher West, both of Canonsburg, Danny West (fiancée Debra) of DuBois, and Tiffany West and Carole (Christopher) Everett, both of Luthersburg; a sister, Patty McDaid of Washington; three grandchildren, Britney Rossi, Elijah Everett and James Strong; a nephew, Earl (Margaret) Pirt, Jr. of West Finley Township; two nieces, Tami Rizor and Sherry Foley, both of Washington and several great nieces and great nephews.
A gathering of friends will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, October 3rd, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, followed by a memorial service at 4:15pm.
