Ruth P. Harvey, 87, of Washington, died Thursday, May 20, 2010, in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care.
She was born January 8, 1923, in Canonsburg, a daughter of John and Annastasia Majsakis Panaeiotis.
Mrs. Harvey worked as a waitress and hostess at the George Washington Hotel and was the former owner of Harvey’s Grill in Marley Park, Maryland.
She enjoyed cooking and making afghans for friends.
Mrs. Harvey was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
On June 24, 1942, she married John P. Harvey, who died April 30, 2004.
Surviving are a daughter, Joanna Ruth Pagliarulo of Washington; four grandchildren, Kimberly, Steven, Barbra and Bridget; and six great-grandchildren, Monica, Kathryn, Daniel, Miranda, Talia, and Kira.
Deceased are a daughter, Beverly Jean Berkhofer; two brothers, George Panagot and Timothy Panagotis; and two sisters, Martha Graham and Carrie Katos.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2010, with Minister John Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
