Timothy Andrew Ferchak, 63, of Wellsburg, WV, formerly of Washington, PA, died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 20, 2010, in Ruby Memorial Hospital.
He was born on May 22, 1946, in Homestead, PA, a son of Andrew and Mary Yeschenko Ferchak.
Mr Ferchak was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps, having served from April 30, 1964, until his honorable discharge on April 29, 1970. During that time he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal.
Mr. Ferchak worked for 38 years as a route manager for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
He belonged to the Teamsters Local 211, and was a former member of the zoning board in South Franklin Township.
My Ferchak enjoyed coaching Pony League baseball in South Franklin Township, and was involved with the Boy Scouts of the America.
Timothy enjoyed watching movies, wood working and building.
His second wife, Guinevere Ferchak died in 2009.
Surviving is a son, Major Kevin A. (Mary) Ferchak, of Washington DC; a daughter, Deborah (Jay) Butterfield, of Taylorstown. In addition to his children, he is survived by his first wife, Jacqueline Harris.
Also surviving are 3 sisters, Janet Kracun, of South Carolina; Andrea Edwards, of Virginia and Anita Cox, of Pittsburgh; and 5 grandchildren, Emily, Abbey, Jacob and Jenna Butterfield, and Drew Ferchak.
Deceased is a sister, Beverly Ferchak.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, and from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a blessing service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 26, 2010, with Father Nicholas Spirko officiating.
Burial will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
Full military rites will be accorded graveside by the Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion.
