Carrie Amon Cree

Carrie Amon Cree, 89, of Washington, died Sunday, December 5, 2010, in the Washington County Health Center. She was born in Washington on January 27, 1921, a daughter of William and Mary Dalton Amon. Mrs. Cree had attended Washington Schools and worked as a waitress for twenty five years at Iasley’s. Additionally, she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post # 175 since 1940. On February 14, 1942, she married Marion Hughes Cree, who died on March 29, 1948. Surviving are two sons, Samuel Bryan Cree and Barry Hughes ( Judith L. )Cree, both of Washington; grandchildren, Holly Cree and Brandi Cree; five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are four brothers, Paul, Robert, William “ Ben “, and Matthew “ Si “ Amon; and seven sisters, Katherine “ Katie “ McCormick, Martha Flynn, Frances Amon, Celia Koulos, Helen Kosey, Mary Hannon, and Annie Amon. Friends of Carrie Amon Cree, 89, of Washington, who died Sunday, December 5, 2010, will be received on Monday from 7 to 9 pm, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
