Clara M. Morgan, 72, of Avella, died unexpectedly, Sunday, August 29, 2010, in the Washington Hospital, after suffering a stroke. She was born April 18, 1938, in Belle Vernon, a daughter of John Martin and Mildred Holod Kelly. Mrs. Morgan formerly worked at Green Valley Packing Company. A very active member of Grove United Presbyterian Church, she served as the church treasurer and was involved in the choir and Sunday School. She was also a member of Buffalo Homemakers Group for over 40 years and was a former 4-H leader. On October 10, 1959, she married D. LeRoy Morgan, who survives. Also surviving are four sons, James (Kimberly) Morgan of Jacksonville, Florida, Charles (Jody) Morgan of Avella, Scott Morgan of Avella and Jason Morgan of Canonsburg; one daughter, Carol Morgan Doman of Hickory; a brother, Tom (Peg) Kelley of Tyrone; a sister, Ruth (Bob) Talley of Phoenix, Arizona; and three grandchildren, Brent Morgan, Brianne Morgan and Kelly Doman. Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, September 2nd, with Rev. Jack Emerick officiating. Burial will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. Memorial contributions may be made to Grove United Presbyterian Church, 125 East Main Street, West Middletown, PA 15379; or to American Cancer Society, 331 South Main Street, Washington, PA 15301.
