Louise Jane Tennant, 77, of Plumsock, died at 7:36 p.m., Friday, July 20, 2007, in Canonsburg General Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
She was born October 8, 1929, in Washington, a daughter of George and Emma L. Chapman Wilson.
Mrs. Tennant attended Washington High School and was a member of Upper Ten Mile Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Tennant had worked as an L.P.N. at Greene County Memorial Hospital, in Waynesburg, and Washington Hospital. She had also worked for Dr. Wison Pizzi, at Crile Machines, H and R Block, for eleven years, Golden Gift, Paul’s Supermarket, and was a secretary/officer for Pinkerton.
She enjoyed hummingbirds, crossword puzzles, plastic grid and camping.
Mrs. Tennant was a member of McGuffey High School Band Boosters, the C-B Club, and member and past president of Tri-County Night Hawks.
On July 18, 1952, she married Walter Raymond Tennant, Sr., who died June 23, 2006.
Surviving are a son, Walter R. Tennant, Jr. and his fiancée, Nadine, of Monongahela; a daughter, Rae Louise (Rick} Ransil, of Canonsburg, with whom she lived; seven grandchildren, Michael (Christa) McDowell, Kaleigh, Nicholas, Abigail and Madison Tennant, Amanda and Jocelyn Shriner; and one great grandchild, Ty Craft.
Deceased are a sister, Juanita Debbis; and two brothers, James S. Wilson and George Wilson.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 24, 2007, with Pastor Larry Deemer and Rev. Catherine Peternel, co-officiating. Interment will follow in Prosperity Cemetery.
