Anna Catherine Higginbotham, 91, of Washington, died Saturday, August 18, 2007, in Washington County Health Center following a lingering illness.
She was born January 20, 1916, in Washington, a daughter of John Sherman and Bertha Lennox McNeal.
Mrs. Higginbotham worked as a custodian for Trinity School District and Washington County Jail, as a waitress at Julia's Restaurant, and as a checker at Fidel and Imperial Cleaners.
She was Protestant and enjoyed crocheting and crafts.
Surviving are a daughter, Catherine Schwering of Washington; a brother, John W. McNeal of Canonsburg; four grandsons, William J. Schwering, Charles Edward Schwering, Richard Scott Schwering and David Anthony; three granddaughters, Helen Mayer, Cindy Bock, and Linda Perry; three great-granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.
Deceased are a son, Walter E. Anthony; three grandchildren who died in infancy; a sister, Bertha McCombs.
At the request of the deceased, burial was private in Mt. Prospect Cemetery.
