John Robert Jakubik, 54, of South Franklin Township, died unexpectedly, Saturday, July 10, 2010, in the emergency department of the Washington Hospital.
He was born March 13, 1956, in Greene County, a son of John J. Jakubik and Elizabeth Koontz Jakubik.
Mr. Jakubik worked as a mine foreman for Consol. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson Motorcycle. Due to his passion for golf, his family prays, “make thy ball lie in green pastures, not in still waters.”
Mr. Jakubik was Catholic by faith.
Surviving are two sons, John and James Jakubik, both of Pittsburgh; a daughter, Julie Jakubik (Chris Caleca) of Brooklyn, New York; four sisters, Debra (Steve) Duncan of Philadelphia, Janet (Rich) Thomas of Morgantown, West Virginia, Vella Marie “Pudge” Devecka of Clarksville and Denise (Ken) Pohill of Kearneysville, West Virginia; step-mother, Elizabeth Kimtantas of Clarksville; mother-in-law, Lyda Kuhn of Waynesburg, and sisters-in-law, Brenda (Daryl) Guthrie of Carmichaels and Linda Iloshway of New York.
Deceased is a daughter, Amanda Jakubik.
A gathering of friends and family will be held Friday, July 16th, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., the time of a memorial service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
