James E. Heatley

James Edward Heatley, 87, of Washington, died Friday, August 18, 2006, in Washington County Health Center following a four-year illness. He was born December 26, 1918, in Washington, a son of Trevolia C. Heatley, Sr. and Margaret A. Amos Heatley. Mr. Heatley graduate from Trinity High School in 1938. Mr. Heatley was employed at Jessop Steel for sixteen years, retiring in 1981. He had also worked at Hazel-Atlas #1. Mr. Heatley was Methodist and a member of Jessop Steel's Retired Employees Social Club. On February 20, 1947, he married Anna Kortenek, who survives. Also surviving are a stepson, Regis A. Innis of Washington; a brother, William Heatley of Washington; a sister Patricia (Paul) Barnes of Beallsville; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a brother, Trevolia C. Heatley, Jr.; and two sisters, Peggy Ann Heatley and Louise Clapp. Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. James B. Inghram officiating. Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery. At the request of the deceased, please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be sent to a charity of the donor's choice.
