William Edward “Bub” Harps, Jr., 56, of Washington, died Thursday, July 15, 2010, in Canonsburg Hospital.
He was born October 8, 1953, in Waynesburg, a son of the late William E. Harps, Sr. and Jeanine Armstrong Harps.
He attended Trinity High School and was Protestant by faith.
Mr. Harps was an auto mechanic (Junk Yard Dog) and truck driver, and most recently worked at Washington Used Parts. He also worked at Falconi and I. Richman Salvage.
Mr. Harps enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and the demolition derby.
His family fondly thinks of him as “Our Dad, Our Pap-Brother-Uncle-Friend, and Our Hero.”
Surviving are two daughters Carie J. (Ted) Willard and Amy C. (Bill) McDonough, both of Claysville; two sisters, Susan Camden and Shelley “Bud” White, both of Washington; four grandchildren, Shani, Justin, Logan, and William “Billy”; several nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, July 24, 2010, in the home of his daughter, Carie J. Willard, 178 Buck Lane, Claysville, PA 15323. A memorial gathering of family and friends will follow.
