John Richard “Jack” Lynn, Sr., 66, of Scenery Hill, died Friday, July 30, 2010, in his residence.
He was born June 24, 1944, in Washington, a son of Kemp W. Lynn, Sr. and Gladys Chalfant Lynn.
Mr. Lynn was a self-employed auto mechanic for 10 years with J&P service. He had also worked for National Annealing Box for 18 years and Ritchey Metals for 24 years.
Mr. Lynn enjoyed repairing vehicles, restoring old cars, and attending classic car shows as well as camping, fishing, golfing, hunting and country music.
He was a member of L.O.O.M. 22, where he served as an officer, Arden Club and VFW 927.
Surviving are his wife, Patty; two sons, John R. (Amy) Lynn, Jr. of Olin, North Carolina, and Joshua A. Holliday, III, of Washington; two daughters, Michele (Roger) Stovall of Concord, North Carolina, and Sherry (Huey) Gillispie of Claysville; a brother, Kemp W. Lynn, Jr., of Scenery Hill; two sisters, Laura Belle Debsky of Richeyville and Lila Theakston of Lone Pine; five grandchildren, McKenna Stovall, Kelsey Gillispie, Huey Gillispie V, Spencer Gillispie and Joshua A. Holliday IV; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Deceased are a brother, Ray Allen Lynn, and a sister, Agnes Geller.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Additional visitation will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, August 4th, from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
