Josephine M. Chicone, 87, of Washington, died Friday, December 10, 2010, in her home, after losing her three-year battle with cancer.
She was born August 27, 1923, in Washington, a daughter of Ralph and Jennie Patricelli DeMaria.
At one time, she worked at Hazel Atlas Glass factory.
Mrs. Chicone was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends.
She liked spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed making crafts, floral arrangements and sewing and was an avid Steelers fan.
On April 23, 1951, she married Paul Chicone, who died July 11, 1999.
Surviving are two sons, Paul Chicone of Washington and Ralph (Michelle) Chicone of North Franklin Township; a brother, Dominick (Evelyn A.) DeMaria of Ormond Beach, Fla.; a sister, Evelyn DeMaria of Washington; three grandchildren, Michael Chicone, Mallory Chicone and Megan Chicone (Nathan) Boxx, all of Pittsburgh; several nieces and nephews; and a cousin, Philomena Patricelli.
Deceased are a brother, Joseph Paul DeMaria, and a sister, who died in infancy.
Friends will be received from 9 a.m. to noon, the hour of a blessing service, Monday, December 13, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, with Father Don Chortos officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
