Walter Melvin Mccloskey

Walter Melvin (Hoppy) McCloskey, 67, of Washington, died on Sunday, December 12, 2010, at his residence. He had been in declining health. He was born on May 1, 1943, in Washington, a son of the late Walter J. and Betty Leonard McCloskey. Mr. McCloskey worked at Jessop Steel for 36 years. He had belonged to Allison Avenue Baptist Church, when he was younger. Walter enjoyed watching harness racing at the Meadows, the Steelers and listening to WJPA. He was a graduate of Trinity High School. On June 29, 1974, he married Mary Ellen Foringer, who survives. Also surviving are an aunt, Deloris Horner, several cousins, and his cat, Sheba. Deceased is his cat, Midnight. Friends will be received Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, PA 15301. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
