Fredricka Louise (Freddie) Couts

Fredricka Louise "Freddie" Couts died Tuesday, October 26, 2010, in her residence. She had been ill since April with cancer. She was born in Washington, a daughter of Henry and Angeline Gizzo Presto. Mrs. Couts was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church. She was an assistant deputy recorder of deeds for Washington County. Mrs. Couts devoted her life to her family and enjoyed cooking, baking and her cat. Bosco. On June 28, 1948, she married Arthur R. Couts, who died April 5, 1964. Surviving are a son, Arthur R. "Bogie" (Marilyn) Couts, Jr.; a daughter, Lisa (James) Wood; a brother, James (Mary) Presto; a sister, Ann Mandich, all of Washington; three grandchildren, Arthur R. Couts, III, of Washington, James (Kaley) Wood, II, of Boynton Beach, Florida, and Lindsay Wood of Bradford; and a great-granddaughter, Jillian Couts. Deceased are two brothers, Mike and Frank Brach; and five sisters, Frances Charmely, Louise Magnetta, Antionette Levato, Evelyn Charmely and Mary Bashur. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 30th, in Immaculate Conception Church, with Father Mike Ruffalo as celebrant. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
