Rev. John C. Kuhn, 85, of Old Hickory, Tennessee, formerly Washington, died Tuesday, October 9, 2007, in McKendree Village Nursing Home. He was born March 27, 1922, in Scottdale, a son of C.R. and Katherine Weaver Kuhn. Rev. Kuhn was a high school graduate as well as a graduate of Eastern Nazarene College in Boston. For 37 years, Rev. Kuhn was a minister in the Church of the Nazarene, serving in various towns, including Washington and Brookville. He was also an ordained elder in the church. Rev. Kuhn enjoyed hunting and vegetable and flower gardening. His first wife, Ferne Dillon, is deceased. On June 30, 2000, he married Doris Tenny, who survives and resides in Oil City. Also surviving are a son, John Glenn (Susan) Kuhn of Washington; five daughters, Judy (John) Glasgow of Beaver Falls, Patricia (William) Summers of Old Hickory, Tennessee; Hope (Brett) Valentine of Eighty-Four, Doris Davis of Canonsburg and Katherine Wheeler of Canonsburg; one sister, Esther Miner of Connellsville; 12 grandchildren, John Scott Glasgow, Janie Elizabeth Glasgow, William Shane Harden, Patricia Dawn Crumpton, John Mark Kuhn, Tina Dawn Shoemaker, Kenneth Charles Shoemaker, Christopher Davis, Jason Davis, Jacob Davis, Brandon Wheeler and Jordon Shon Wheeler; 10 great-grandchildren, Shona Elizabeth Glasgow, Gabriel, Isaac, and Eden Harden, Victoria, Alexandria, Colby and Zachary Crumpton, and Erin and Shannon Kuhn; and many nieces and nephews. Deceased are a grandchild, James Shon Harden; two brothers, James Kuhn and Samuel Kuhn; and three sisters, Pearl Hodgkiss, Mary Infantino, and an infant sister, Sarah. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of service, Saturday, October 13th, in First Church of the Nazarene, Washington, with Dr. Stephen Dillman officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Kecksburg.
