Shirley Anne Armstrong, 77, of Winchester, Indiana, formerly of Washington, died Tuesday, November 6, 2007, in Randolph Nursing Home, Winchester. She had been ill since February.
She was born August 10, 1930, in Lone Cedar, West Virginia, a daughter of Peter and Vern Davis Mills.
Mrs. Armstrong worked in the admitting office of The Washington Hospital for 14 years. She enjoyed reading and crocheting.
On October 9, 1951, she married Rowland “Bonesâ€쳌 Armstrong, who died August 25, 1977.
Surviving are two sons, William (Roseann) Armstrong of Phoenix, Arizona, and Jeffrey Armstrong of Washington; two daughters, Patty (Ronald) DeMark of Winchester, Indiana, and Nancy (Paul) McMahan of Washington; six grandchildren, Chrissy and Tina Armstrong, Justina and Jerika Armstrong, and DeeDee and Joseph McMahan; and one great-grandchild, Michael Armstrong.
Deceased is a brother, Cecil Mills.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2007, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Claysville Cemetery.
