Betty Jane Phillips

Betty Jane Phillips, 63, of Washington, died April 21, 2010, in Donnell House, with her family by her side, following a nine-year battle with cancer. She was born September 8, 1946, in Washington, a daughter of the late George and Agnes Harkeli Hennick. Mrs. Phillips was a 1964 graduate of Trinity High School and was a homemaker who enjoyed her family and grandchildren. She leaves behind her precious cat, Sassy. Mr. Phillips was Catholic by faith. On March 5, 1965, she married Lawrence Phillips, with whom she celebrated 45 years of marriage. Also surviving are a son, William (Sherry) Phillips of Bridgeville; a daughter, Khristie (Rick) Schmidt of Washington; a brother, Richard (Joyce) Hennick of Washington; and two grandchildren, Cassandra and Emily Schmidt. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 24th, in Church of Christ, 700 Allison Avenue, Washington. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.
