Anita Stanko

Anita Luise Gerdes Stanko, 80, of Washington, died Sunday, May 17, 2009, in Washington County Health Center. She was born August 21, 1928, in Ostmoorsee, Germany, a daughter of Gustav and Minna Hadeler Gerdes. Mrs. Stanko worked at Hazel Atlas as a selector-packer, at J.C. Penney in security, and at Marianne Shop. On August 21, 1954, she married John J. Stanko, who survives. Also surviving are a sister-in-law, a nephew, and several nieces. She was the last of her immediate family. Deceased are a sister and two brothers. There will be no public viewing or services. Private burial will be held in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
