James C. Waychoff 74, of Washington, Pa Died at 11:30 PM Saturday, July 11th in the Washington Hospital Emergency Room. He was born August 8, 1934 a son of the late Frank C. and Vera Clemens Waychoff. Mr. Waychoff was a 1953 graduate of Trinity High School. He was a 6 year National Guard Veteran of 1101F Co. 28th Division HQ&HQ. He was the first Fire Chief of Canton Township Volunteer Fire Department and remained a Charter and Life member. Mr. Waychoff was a past employee of Beatty Motor Express for 18 years, Al Rogers and Sons, and retired from 15 years service at Millcraft Mining Products. He was a member of the Wolf Pack Motorcycle Club, the Washington Moose Lodge #22 and a social member of the Taylorstown American Legion. Mr. Waychoff is survived by his wife of 19 years, Nancy J. Atkins, a son David L. (Lauri) Waychoff of Dahlonega, Georgia, a daughter Crystal (Bill) Powell of Washington, Pa; and a brother, Charles Waychoff, of Tampa, Florida. Also surviving are 4 step-children, Barbara (Dan) Bergles of Claysville, Pa., Donna (Bryan) Miles of Williamstown, Ky., John (Carrie) Mounts of Washington, Pa., Jeffrey (Tori) Mounts of Anthem, Az. 4 grandchildren David J., Pamela M., Billy, and Jessica, 15 step-grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Deceased in addition to his parents are sisters Leana Jean and Patty Jane Waychoff. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2009. Canton Township Volunteer Fire Department will hold a fireman’s service in the funeral home at 7 p.m., Wednesday evening. The family suggests memorial contributions to Canton Township Volunteer Fire Department, 701 Weirich Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
