Lois Ruth Ullom, 89, of Washington, died Sunday, June 7, 2009, in the Donnell Hospice house, following a four year illness.
She was born in Amity on January 17, 1920, a daughter of Jacob McClellan and Grace Mae Haynes Bainer.
She was a 1938 graduate of Trinity High School, member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Washington and was retired from Kroger's in Washington after thirty-five years, having been Head Cashier at the time of her retirement. Additionally, she had worked at Pottery Factory Outlet and Jerry's Pet Shop.
Surviving are, a son Edward C. Ullom, Sr. of Washington, a sister Erma Saunders of Santa Monica California; four grandchildren, Edward C. Ullom, Jr., Daniel Ullom, Janet Devenney, and Denise Cornell; a great-grandchild, Stacey Blair and a great-great grandson Kanaye Blair.
She is preceded in death by a son, Donald R. Ullom; a sister Eloise Day; two brothers, Rev. Claude J. Bainer and Wayne I. Bainer ; a great-grandchild, Danielle Ullom; and her long time companion, Karl Rhoades.
Friends of Lois Ruth Ullom, 89, of Washington, who died Sunday, June 7, 2009, will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at 2:30 PM, Rev. Joseph Schiren officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
