Cheryll Vankirk

Cheryll Vankirk, 63, of Amity, died at 6:12 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2007, in University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a lingering illness. She was born December 16, 1943, in Washington, a daughter of Edward Francis Syrek and Elaine Renee Sprowls Majer. Mrs. Vankirk graduated from Washington High School and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. She was a homemaker who devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. Surviving are two sons, Randy (Julie) Vankirk of Amity, and Robert (Tammi) Vankirk of Aydlett, North Carolina; a brother, Edward (Brenda) Syrek of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; a sister, Jo Elaine Gray of Loris, South Carolina; and four grandchildren, Ryan Christopher Vankirk and Savannah, Sabra and Joshua Vankirk. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a blessing service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2007, with Father William Feeney officiating assisted by Pastor Nathan Miller. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
