Phyllis Jean McSwords, 69, of Washington, died February 23, 2007, in Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington, following a one-year illness.
She was born November 9, 1937, in Glendale, West Virginia, a daughter of Charles W. and Laura E. Bosworth Devaul.
Mrs. McSwords graduated from Union High School, Benwood, West Virginia, in 1955.
She worked in the offices of the former Ames and Hill’s department stores. Mrs. McSwords was a member of Church of God, McMechen, West Virginia, and enjoyed playing bingo and watching the Steelers and NASCAR.
Surviving are three daughters, Cathy (Tom) Parker of Arlington, Texas, Vicki Casaus (Kenny Summers) of Arlington, Texas, and Pamela (Rodney) Patterson of Washington; two sisters, June (Don) Campbell of Polk City, Florida, and Cassie (Tony) Zambori of Barton, Ohio; ten grandchildren, Chuck, Jeff, Mike, Autumn, Thomas, Robin, and Sarah Parker, and T.J. and Nicole Petroff, all of Washington, and Harley Patterson, of Washington; and seven great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a sister, Diana Kay Weekly.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 26, 2007. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. At the request of the deceased, please wear casual attire to the funeral home.
