Russell LeRoy Zediker,Jr., 53, of Prosperity, died Friday, October 1, 2004, in the Donnell House following a one year illness. He was born in Washington on November 5, 1950, a son of Lauretta Prosser Zediker Dillie of Prosperity and the late Russell LeRoy Zediker, Sr.
Mr. Zediker was a graduate of West Greene High School and was a carpenter having last worked for Ed Hancher for more than fifteen years. He was a member of the Jessop Club, Slovak Club, and the Moose.
Surviving are his daughters, Dana M. and Denise L. Zediker, both of McDonald; three brothers, James Zediker of Burgettstown, David B. Zediker of Washington, and Paul Dillie of Columbus, Ohio; three sisters, Carol Sprowls of West Alexander, Brenda Couderc of Claysville, and Sandra Simpson of Masilin, Ohio; a grandson Jake.
Mr. Zediker is preceded in death by Abraham Lincoln “ Link “ Dillie who raised him; a daughter Julie M. Zediker who died as an infant; and a brother William Zediker.
Friends of Russell LeRoy Zediker,Jr., 53, of Prosperity, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Monday in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where services will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2004, at 11:00 am, Ronald Ringer officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
