Canonsburg woman retired from Patti Petite Cookie Factory
Audrey Naomi Block, 94, of Canonsburg, died at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2005, in Washington Hospital, following a four-year illness.
She was born February 2, 1911, in Roseville, Ohio, a daughter of Charles and Rossetti Holland McConnell.
Mrs. Block was Protestant and enjoyed gardening, cooking and outdoor work. She retired from Patti Petite Cookie Factory, where she worked as a packer.
In August 1929, she married George H. Block Jr., who died in 1973.
Surviving are a son, George H. Block III of Eighty Four; a daughter, Edna Audree Block of Canonsburg; two grandchildren, Kathy Ward and Patrick Block; and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, are nine brothers, Elmer, James, Virgil, Bert, Lem and Willard McConnell and three who died in infancy.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon, the hour of service, Thursday, May 12, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Linda Mankey officiating.
