Frances Jacquelyn (Jackie) Rafter, 65, a resident of Presbyterian Medical Center in Washington for the past several years, formerly of Bellmead Apartments, Washington, died at 9 p.m. Sunday, October 10, 2004, in Washington Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born March 10, 1939, in Forest Hills, Pittsburgh, a daughter of Martin Dinneen and Frances Domsic Rafter. Miss Rafter attended St. Veronica School. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Washington, and formerly attended Miraculous Medal Church in Meadow Lands. Surviving are a sister, Patricia Martin (Daniel) of Washington; two nieces; three nephews; 11 great-nieces and nephews; and a great-great-nephew. A brother, John R. Rafter, is deceased.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 14, in Immaculate Conception Church, 119 West Chestnut Street, Washington, with the Rev. Thomas Lewandowski as celebrant. Interment will follow in Braddock Catholic Cemetery, Pittsburgh. Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, October 15, in the meditation area of the Chapel of Southmont, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating.
