Richard M. “ Dickey “ Carney, 44, of Washington, died on Sunday, April 4, 2004. He was born in Steubenville, Ohio, on August 22, 1959, a son of the late Richard F. Carney and Betty Mae Heisler Carney of Washington. Mr. Carney had attended Washington High School and worked as a roofer. In the past, he spent several years working for J.L. Miller Roofing and most recently worked for various local contractors. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Washington.
Surviving in addition to his mother are a son, Michael Carney, two grandchildren, Tristan James and Isabel Memphis Carney ; a brother, Staff Sergeant Kary Mitchell Carney of Fort Knox, Kentucky; five sisters, Rhonda Sue Newnham of Graysville, Charla Ann Pilger of Dallas, Pa, Debra Jane Insana of Washington, Nora Lee Griffith of Buckhannon, West Virginia, and Kara Jean Freeman; and several nieces and nephews.
No public visitation will be held and services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of William G.
