James Benjamin Rodden, Jr., 59, of New Eagle, died Wednesday, October 27, 2004 as a result of an automobile accident. He was born in Roanoke, Virginia, on January 24, 1945, a son of the late James B. and Ellen Noreen Metzger Rodden, Sr. Mr. Rodden was a graduate of Chamberlin High School in Tampa., Florida. He had been in the New Eagle area for the last eight years and had worked during that time as a fork lift operator at Thermo Rock.
Surviving are a son, James B. Rodden, III, of Lynco, West Virginia; three daughters, Kelly Burford of Charlestown, West Virginia, Jennie Sloan of Dover, Florida, and Rebecca Rodden of Louisville, Kentucky; two brothers, David and Edward Rodden; two sisters, Anna and Jane; five grandchildren, Ashley and Courtney Sloan, Jessica Kenny, Billy and Tiffini Burford.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations are requested to The Blind Association.
