Leroy H. Donahue Jr., 81 , of Washington, died at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, October 7, 2004, in Hazel Day Personal Care Home, Allison Avenue, Washington, following a five-year illness. He was born September 10, 1923, in Washington, a son of Leroy H. (Jack) Donahue and Pearl Dungee. Mr. Donahue had been a self-employed painter. He was a 1941 graduate of Washington High School, served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and enjoyed automobiles. He married Edis McCullough, who died April 11, 1997. Surviving are a sister, Mary Ann Cherokee of Washington, and many nieces and nephews. Deceased are four brothers, Jack, Benjamin, Alfred and William Donahue; two sisters, Nellie Black and Lorraine Tomassetti; and his stepmother, Charlotte Balon Donahue.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, October 9, the time of services, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with the Rev. P. Miller Lydic officiating. Interment will be in Centennial Cemetery, Aleppo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Hazel Day Personal Care Homes to benefit the residents of 270 Allison Avenue, Washington.
