Anthony Joseph (Tony) Zelensky, 84, of Washington, died at 6:20 a.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2004, in Donnell House, Washington, after a two-year illness. He was born February 19, 1920, in Cambria County, a son of Joseph and Mary Yonkoski Zelensky. Mr. Zelensky worked in coal mines for 20 years and also in heavy construction in Dearborn, Mich. He was a member of Polish National Alliance and Washington Senior Citizens Center, and he enjoyed fishing, hunting and dancing. Mr. Zelensky attended Immaculate Conception Church, Washington. Surviving are a son, Anthony (Tony) Zelensky of Washington; two daughters, Victoria Beck of Bradenton, Fla., and Gloria Echoff of Greensburg; three sisters, Helen Furman of Fort Montgomery, N.Y., Pauline Pleva of Gallitzin and Frances Weber of Erie; and six grandchildren, Jennifer Chakos, Anthony Zelensky, Melissa Bellino, Susan Roscoe, Stephanie Beck and Wendy Goodman. Deceased are a brother, Stanley Zelensky; and two sisters, Nellie Sinosky and Stella Brodie. A memorial blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 1, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with the Rev. Nicholas Spirko officiating.
