Martha V. Frazier Kelley, 84, of Washington, died Saturday, April 26, 2008, in Washington County Health Center, following a lengthy illness.
She was born November 1, 1923, in Washington, a daughter of Joseph Edwin and Gladys Patience Coughenour Mackey.
For 34 years, Mrs. Kelley worked as a gang saw machine operator at Union Camp Corporation.
She was a member of Friendship Community Church and also attended North Buffalo Church.
On May 29, 1940, she married John P. “Jack” Frazier, who died December 11, 1961.
On September 4, 1963, she married Samuel C. Kelley, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, John H. “Jack” (Connie) Frazier of Washington; a daughter, Karen C. Sims of Washington; four grandchildren, Robin (Scott) Rogers, Butch (Char) Sims, Jr., Catherine (Tad) Dames and Christopher L. Frazier; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are two step children, Charles Kelley, of Louisiana and Betty Jane Pierson, of Ohio; 5 step grandchildren, and several step great grandchildren
Deceased are a son, William Joseph Frazier; two grandchildren, Virginia Sims and Jack A. Frazier; and three sisters, Dorothy Renz, Louise Mounts and Helen Loughman.
Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 1, 2008, with Pastor Rick Bruckner officiating. Burial will follow in North Buffalo Church Cemetery.
