Ida Jeanette Strawn

Ida Jeanette Strawn, 78, of Washington died Saturday, April 26, 2003 in Humbert Lane Heal Care following a two year illness. She was born in Washington on February 4, 1924 a daughter of O. H. and Grace Pettit Strawn. Mrs. Strawn was a home maker, a Trinity High School graduate, and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. On July 17, 1947 she married Wilbert Strawn who survives. Also surviving are a son, Douglas Strawn of Washington; two daughters, Kay Barni of Washington and Elizabeth Lawrence of Canonsburg; three sisters, Mary Hathaway of Washington, Birdie Westfall of Prosperity, and Margaret Hoover-McConn of Washington; six grandchildren, Julie Tabish, Joy and Jeremy Barni, Ryan, Rachel, and Jacob Lawrence, as well as one great-grandchild. Mrs. Strwan is preceded in death by two brothers, Homer and Harland Mounts; five sisters, Edna Mounts, Dessie Mounts, Alice Breese, Gladys Henderson, Grace Horne. Friend of Ida Jeanette Strawn, who died on Saturday, April 26, 2003 will be received on Monday from 7 to 9 PM and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington where services will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2003 at 1:00 PM with The Rev. David Mayo officiating. Interment will follow in Prosperity Cemetery.
