Susan A. Smith Davoli, 48, of Houston, died Monday, September 27, 2004, in Donnell House, Washington, following a five-year struggle with cancer. She was born August 13, 1956, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Norma Brown Smith of Washington and the late Dr. Richard C. Smith. Mrs. Davoli was a graduate of Trinity High School and attended Penn State-Beaver campus for two years. She was a member of Church of the Covenant in Washington. Mrs. Davoli formerly owned Creative Canine Cuts for 18 years. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter and animals. On October 18, 1986, she married Brian J. Davoli, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Lauren Nicole Davoli, at home; a brother, Edward C. Smith of Woodbine, Md.; three nephews, James Davoli, Skylar Holcomb and Daniel Smith; and two nieces, Christine Smith and Sierra Holcomb. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 30, in Church of the Covenant, 267 East Beau Street, Washington, with the Revs. Thomas Hamilton and Joanne Brown officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Lauren Davoli Scholarship Fund, 213 Hart Street, Houston, PA 15342.
