Nancy Jane Shaner, 54, of Washington, died at 3:19 p.m.,Tuesday, October 12, 2004, in Washington Hospital. She had been ill since January.
She was born September 29, 1950, in Washington, a daughter of John and Juanita Brownlee Dashofy.
She was a graduate of Cortez High School in Phoenix, Arizona, and had college credits also.
She was a member of Glenn Street Free Methodist Church.
Mrs. Shaner was an employed as an E.M.T. with Canonsburg Ambulance Service.
She enjoyed baking, cake decorating, and her grandchildren.
On December 5, 1969, she married Stanley Fred Shaner, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Andrew Scott Shaner, of Mt. Morris; a daughter, Jennifer Lillian Hempel, of Elkins, West Virginia; a brother, Louis Dashofy, of Oregon; a sister, Jessica Miller, of Phoenix, Arizona; seven grandchildren, Luke Hempel, John Hempel, Jacob Shaner, Daniel Hempel, Emilie Shaner, Zachary Shaner, and Laura Jane Hempel.
Deceased is a brother, John Dashofy, Jr.
Friends of Nancy Jane Shaner, 54, of Washington, who died Tuesday, October 12, 2004, will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 16, 2004, with the Rev. Robert Neal officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
