Robert Leman Mccarrell

Robert L. McCarrell, 64 of Washington died Wed., January 8, 2003 in the Washington Hospital following a three year illness. He was born on July 25,1938 the son of James Leman and Margaret Jeanette McIlvaine McCarrell. Mr. McCarrell was a graduate of Hickory High School. He had worked more than 30 years as an inspector at Jessop Steel. Mr. McCarrell had served in the US Army. He was a member of West Washington Methodist Church, American Legion Post # 175, Jessop Club, and Moose Lodge # 22. On July 15, 1960 he married Marilyn Cooper who survives. Also surviving are his step-mother, Betty McCarrell of Hickory, Three step-brothers; Robert McCracken of Nashville, TN, William McCracken of Hickory, and Fred McCracken of Annawan, Il.; as well as a step-sister, Bonnie Ann Bitz of Claysville. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with interment in Mt. Prospect Cemetery.
