Washington Co. employee for 23 years
Joanne B. Jarosz, 68, of Washington, died Wednesday, November 6, 2002, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a lengthy illness.
She was born September 18, 1934, in Washington, a daughter of Edgar F. and Bridget Raipe Lauther.
Mrs. Jarosz was a clerk typist for 23 years in the Washington County prothonotary's office and later in the jury commissioner's office.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Claysville.
Mrs. Jarosz was a 1952 graduate of Claysville High School and attended Waynesburg College.
She was a member and past president of James R. Hunt American Legion Post 639 Ladies Auxiliary.
On September 17, 1955, she married John W. Jarosz, who survives.
Also surviving a son, David Jarosz of Washington; a daughter, Kathleen Moeller of McCandless Township; three brothers, Edgar K. "Lefty" Lauther of Washington, Carl Lauther of Claysville and William Lauther of Gibsonton, Fla.; two sisters, Patricia Brown of Claysville and Judith Stewart of Erie; and a grandson, Brian Moeller; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a daughter, Rebecca Joanne Jarosz, who died in infancy; and a sister, Geraldine Post.
JAROSZ - Friends of Joanne B. Jarosz of Washington, who died Wednesday, November 6, 2002, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 9, at a time to be announced, in Sacred Heart Church, Claysville. Burial will follow in Claysville Cemetery.
