Frederick Voelker, Jr.

Frederick (Rick) Day Voelker Jr., 59, of Washington, died at 2:28 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2005, in his home, after a 14-month illness. He was born February 23, 1946, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Frederick D. Sr. and Rosalind Gammon Voelker. Mr. Voelker was a graduate of the first class of Fox Chapel High School. He then went on to graduate from Allegheny College, Meadville. He was a computer technician for Oracle Software for 11 years. He was a member of Lone Pine Golf Club and enjoyed playing tennis. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Army. On June 14, 1980, he married Kathleen Marie Clemens Voelker, who survives. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Scott Matthew Voelker and a daughter, Stacy Marie Voelker, both of Washington; and a brother, David William Voelker of Uniontown. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 9 to 11 a.m., the time of services, Wednesday, June 1, in William G. Neal Funeral Home Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Western Pennsylvania Cancer Institute, 4800 Friendship Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15224.
