Laura Blaze Woznick, 82, of Washington, died Sunday, October 3, 2004, in Presbyterian Senior Care following a five month illness. She was born on June 14, 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of Francis and Katherine Knopa Blazyjewski. Mrs. Woznick had attended Lincoln Hill School. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post # 175 and had once been active on the Citizens Band Radio, her handle was Morning Star. She was also a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
On January 13, 1951 she married Paul J. Woznick who died on September 5, 1999.
Surviving are two sons, John and Robert Blaze, both of Amarillo, Texas; three daughters, JoAnn Young of Taylor, Michigan, Paula Watson and Debbie Jordan, both of Washington; a brother Walter Blaze of California; Helen Vrabel of Utica, Michigan; seven grandchildren, Holly Blaze, KathyJo Ann Swan, Tommy Jordan, Amy Jordan, Scott Jordan, Jody Grayson, and Clint Watson; and five great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by a daughter Florence “ Bo “ Blaze; three sisters, Anna Novan, Stella Chrnovich, Mary Kaferle; nine brothers, Ed, John, and Steve Blaze as well as six brothers who died as infants.
Friends of Laura Blaze Woznick, 82, of Washington, will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where services will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2004, at a time to be announced. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
