William Stanley McCoy, 70, of Washington, died at 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2004, in The Greenery, Canonsburg. He had been ill since February. He was born August 1, 1934, in Washington, a son of William Carl and Lulu Blanche Davidson McCoy. Mr. McCoy was a mechanic and operator at Brockway Glass and Tygart Valley Plant 7. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175 and a former member of VFW Post 927 Hawkins Post Home. He enjoyed walking. On October 19, 1973, he married Margaret Sabocheck, who survives. Also surviving are three brothers, Edward and Robert McCoy, both of Washington, and Richard McCoy of Canonsburg; and two sisters, Margaret Brodnick of Meadow Lands and Mary Grace Grimm of Buffalo Township.
Deceased are two brothers, John McCoy and Joseph McCoy, who died in infancy.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 4, with the Rev. Sang Kong Choi officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
