Richard E. McDade, Sr., 70, of Washington, died Wednesday, December 15, 2004, in his home following a lengthy illness. He was born May 20, 1934, in Rochester, PA, a son of Vernon and Bernice Tomlinson McDade, and was a graduate of Rochester High School. Mr. McDade was a member of the First Baptist Church in Washington. He enjoyed camping and was also a member of the Elks. He was the former owner and operator of ZEE Medical Supply in Washington and had been for more than twenty-seven years. On August 28, 1953, he married Elizabeth “ Betty “ Cochran who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Virginia McDade-Foster and her husband Norman of Washington, Maribeth Moore and her husband Thomas of the North Hills; two sons, Richard E. McDade, Jr., and his wife Betsy of Ambridge, and Kenneth McDade and his wife Peggy of Washington; a brother Vernon McDade of Albuquerque, New Mexico; a sister Dorothy Goettman of Rochester; eleven grandchildren, Rachel, Rebecca, Jennifer, Brian, Melody, Peggy, Christopher, Patrick, Matthew, Linda, and Richard; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Shaner and Katherine Fisher. Preceding him in death is a grandchild, Jeremy McDade. Friends of Richard E. McDade, Sr., 70, of Washington, who died Wednesday, December 15, 2004, will be received on Thursday from 7 to 9 pm and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2004, at 1:00 pm, with Rev. Steve Brotzman officiating. The family requests memorial donations be made to the following: First Baptist Church, College & Wheeling, Washington, PA 15301 or Three Rivers Hospice, Empire Building, 2nd Floor, 3001 Jacks Run Road, Whitehall, PA 15131.
