Norma Irene Jinkens, 85, of Washington, died Tuesday, August 5, 2008, in Southmont, of Presbyterian Senior Care, following a lingering illness. Born June 1, 1923, in Washington, she was the only daughter of Harold and Clara Hull Miller. Mrs. Jinkens graduated from Washington High School in 1941. She worked at the Jessop Steel Company for three years during World War II, as a lab technician, and later at J.C. Penney for several years. Mrs. Jinkens was a 50-year member of the West Washington United Methodist Church. She enjoyed collecting antiques, music, dancing, and her life-long friends. On December 1, 1947, she married Billy Jinkens, who died on March 7, 1983. Surviving are a son, Jay H. (Patricia) Jinkens. Viewing and services are private. Arrangements are by William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to West Washington United Methodist Church, 625 Fayette Street, Washington, PA 15301.
