Melvin L. Pallett

Melvin L. Pallett, 73, of Washington died unexpectedly Monday, July 21, 2003. He was born in Washington on September 11, 1927 a son of Alex A. and Mattie J. Briggs Pallett. Mr. Pallett was a graduate of Trinity High School and served with the United States Marines in Korea. He was retired, having worked as a Core Maker for Washington Mould Machine & Foundry. He was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall. Mr. Pallett enjoyed gardening and farming. On June 27, 1958 he married Sheila B. Williams who survives. Also surviving are a son, Daniel L. Pallett of Washington; a daughter, Shirley J. Pallett of Washington; three brothers, Alvin L., Harry “ Pete “, and William L. Pallett, all of Washington; two sisters, Jean Pallett and Dorothy Haines of Washington; a grandson, Benjamine D. Pallett. Preceding him in death are a daughter, Nancy Pallett; a brother, David A. Pallett; three sisters, Ida Pallett, Bertha McNurlen, and Katherine Taylor; and a half-sister Gladys Watson. Friends of Melvin L. Pallett, 73, of Washington who died on Monday, July 21, 2003, will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2003 at 1:00 PM at Jehovah’s Witness’s Kingdom Hall, Cleveland Road, Washington, Gerald Dungee officiating.
