Verna H. O'Brien

Verna H. O’Brien, 73, of Washington, died Friday, April 8, 2005, in the Donnell House Following a short illness. She was born in Washington on January 28, 1932, a daughter of William C. Sr. and Sarah E. Boardley Harter. She was a 1949 graduate of Washington High School and a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Washington. She enjoyed shopping and crocheting. Mrs. O’Brien had once worked as an office manager at Mayors Jewelry in Coral Springs, Florida. On June 12, 1953, she married Jack O’Brien who survives. Also surviving are a son, Frank O’Brien and his wife, Tracy McKay of Green Acres, Florida; a daughter, Kellie Baird and her husband Russell of Prosperity; a brother Thomas Harter of Washington; a sister Beverly Wolf of Washington; and five grandchildren, Joelle Baird, Jacqueline and Rachel Hyland, Ashley and Megan O’Brien. She is preceded in death by a son, Daniel Clark O’Brien and a brother William Harter, Jr. Friends of Verna H. O’Brien, 73, of Washington, who Friday, April 8, 2005, will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where services will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at 11:00 am, Rev. Anne Howe and Russell Baird officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery. The family requests memorial donations be made to: St. Paul Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 775 North Main Street, Washington or Donnell House, Leet Street, Washington.
