George "Pette" Willhoft, Jr., 20, of Washington, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009, as a result of a drowning accident at Ohiopyle State Park.
He was born March 19, 1989, in Washington, a son of George Willhoft, Sr., of Independence, and Tina Garrett Willhoft, of Washington.
Mr. Willhoft was a sheet metal worker at R.A.M.E. for one year.
He graduated from McKeesport High School in 2007 and was protestant by faith.
Mr. Willhoft enjoyed fishing, hunting, and his truck.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are three brothers, Justin, John and Brian Willhoft, all of Washington, three sisters, Christine, Samantha, and Victoria Willhoft, all of Washington, a step brother, Tyler Ranegar, and step sister, Kylie Ranegar, both of Independence; two nieces, Cierra Willhoft and Alayah Ford; his maternal grandmother, Linda McGowan, of Washington, paternal grandmother, Mary Willhoft, of Eighty-Four; a special aunt, whom he called “Grandma Sandy”, a special uncle, “Tim”; and several cousins.
Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday, and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 29, 2009, with Rev. Ben Scott officiating. Interment will follow in Independence Cemetery, Avella.
