Patricia Louise Hallam, 76, of Prosperity, died Wednesday, June 3, 2009, in Donnell House. She battled cancer for 20 years and in April suffered a stroke and an infection that ultimately took her life. She was born June 17, 1932, in Washington, a daughter of Clinton and Mabel Anna Lemon Hickman. Mrs. Hallam graduated from Trinity High School in 1949 and later from Penn Commercial. Early in her life she worked at Bell Telephone and for Snyder's Answering Service. She then worked at Fairmont Supply for more than 30 years. Mrs. Hallam was a member of Upper Ten Mile Presbyterian Church, Prosperity. On June 27, 1952, she married Walter Hallam, who died September 21, 2002. Surviving are two daughters, Debbie (Michael) Otruba of Prosperity and Kathy (Floyd) Nelson of Gifford; a brother, George Hickman of The Villages, Florida; four grandchildren, Amy Kraushaar, Shawn Fisher, Julie Gray and Ryan Fisher; and six great-grandchildren, Josh, Michael, Cole, Kael, Matthew and Madison. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 8th, with Pastor Larry Deemer officiating. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 331 South Main Street, Washington, PA 15301; or to Donnell House, Hospice Care of the Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington PA 15301.
