Illa Nellie Chipps

Illa Nellie Chipps, 92, of Washington, died Tuesday, July 14, 2009, in Donnell House. She was born October 2, 1916, in West Middletown, a daughter of William Jasper and Rena Allen Clemens. Mrs. Chipps was a homemaker and farmer on her own farm. She was Protestant. Surviving are a son, William Oliver (Sheila) Chipps of Moundsville, West Virginia; three daughters, Mary Louise Magers of Washington, Sylvia Ilene (Delbert) VanScyoc of Moundsville and Goldie Irene Paith of McCracken; several half-brothers and half-sisters; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Deceased are three brothers, Herbert James Clemens, William Ivan Clemens and Kenneth Clemens; a sister, Gertrude Mae Clemens; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 18th. Burial will follow in North Buffalo Church Cemetery.
